Mother's Day Pictures

Remember how I told you I asked Jake for pictures of myself with the kids for Mother's Day this year?  Well a sweet friend of mine asked me if we wanted to trade each other's time for pictures and hair.  Great idea!  Here are some of the "samples" she posted while working on editing them and all that jazz.
That picture of me by myself was taken without my knowledge and I love her for taking it.  I know what I was thinking, "why do my kids keep running off?  I just wish they'd come back here and cooperate."
They came back alright, came back and Solomon jumped and climbed all over us when we tried this pose.
I am so glad the "stress" I was feeling on the inside doesn't seem to be showing in these pictures (but I'm sure there are plenty she deleted that showed that stress).
Deep down I find myself nit-picking my body and face and all my "flaws" that I see but I just tell myself to STOP IT and enjoy the way these pictures make me feel.  They make me feel SO HAPPY!

I am excited to see the rest and I love my babies so very much and love being their mother.
I love my job!

  4. You and your children are just beautiful! I loved all the pictures - these will always be a treasure to you! The pictures we had taken of our family just two days after Houston was born are my favorite pictures ever even though I don't look "perfect" - they just perfectly captured how I felt.

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
