It's WINTER

January in Florida means some 80 degree days and contemplating a swim in the pool before deciding to jump on the trampoline instead.  Zelda waited impatiently for me to hook her up by the kids.  (look how Zelda sits on her knees practically with her legs behind her, silly dog) Solomon LOVES baths, but is filthy all the time, makes no sense.  These sisters, they are so mature and grown-up to me one minute and my babies the next.  I love it.  Aimi Lark did not get her long legs from me or Jake.  Taking Solomon's picture is pretty much impossible, he shouts, "AH SEE!!!  AH SEE MAMA!!!" the whole time til I show him the back of the camera. Even with Daddy gone since before the sun came up (don't worry he saw the kids, they were up at 5am, lucky us) and home long after the babies are in bed, we've had a great day!  Solomon's bedtime is in 30 minutes, I'm exhausted.  Man, I just remembered I need to pack for the w...

$1.99

Happy Meals totally didn't happen. See, my husband has a problem with listening, to me. He went to the McDonald's that doesn't have any specials.   Not the McDonald's I told him to go to, not the McDonald's I told him randomly about on Sunday because I was SO EXCITED that the special was back (and he made fun of me for).  I whipped up spaghetti instead. My feelings were hurt, him not listening happens more often than I'd like.  I feel like sometimes he has so many other IMPORTANT (law school, work, the army, etc etc) things on his brain that he figures I'll just repeat myself?  who knows. Either way I had my hopes up of giving my kids Happy Meals for dinner and not having to cook.  I always wanted Happy Meals as a kid but they were too expensive, same reason I don't buy them for my kids now.  So since the day of the week I didn't want to cook perfectly lined up with the day of the week they were on sale and it was on his way home I...

Not a good day...

I gave the dog a new toy, it's shredded, covering my floors, and everywhere.  I knew it would happen so why is it bothering me? I deep cleaned floors yesterday, oops. I washed all the bedding in the house today, but have only re-made one bed. My kids are extra fighty today, they totally love one another. Mali Su thinks Aimi Lark gets all the "pretty clothes."  They share ALL their clothes and ALL their clothes are hand me downs from my sister.  I've tried to tell her it's first come first serve in those dressers. I have received none of the documents I need to file our taxes, but I want to work on them now. I wanted to eat Blue Bell for lunch but had beef jerky instead. My husband will be home in an hour.  I don't want to cook, and I am going to call him and tell him to pick up food for dinner.  Happy meals on sale for $1.99 on Tuesdays, SCORE! I think I'm going to not clean, wait for Jake to bring dinner, and a friend just offered her husb...

Solomon (almost 22 months old)

lives in a diaper, he's too messy for clothes. He hardly ever wears shoes because he takes them off instantly whenever he's not walking around. He kisses his own "owies" better. He has started putting my name with other words to make the cutest sentences. "Ah See Mama"  (I see Mama) "Mere Mama"  (Come here Mama) "han Mama"  (Take my hand Mama so I can show you something) His prayers have become quite in depth now too.  It is mostly sounds but we do make out words such as "Da Da, Delda, Foo(d), girls, and MaMa." This boy will be 22 months old on February 6th. He puts his glasses on himself now and is breaking them way less.  He just got a stronger prescription so we're hoping that helps his eye stay straight 100% of the time with his glasses.   He is still so messy that I don't even try to clothe him until he starts to pull down his diaper, then he wears footed zipper pajamas no matter the weather...

Mali Su is 5 (on Friday)

but since Daddy has Army stuff on her actual day we celebrated early.  She of course didn't mind one bit!  She LOVES technology.  She has now discovered the XBOX and all the Netflix kids and video games can offer her.  I love listening to her laugh, she loves to laugh these days.  She will make jokes with Aimi Lark and giggle non-stop.   She's a great dancer to her new found favorite show "The Fresh Beat Band." Look who is (almost) FIVE!   She has been asking for a Costco rose cake for her birthday for as long as I can remember.  She was so excited (and I was excited it said Happy Birthday on it, they normally say BEST WISHES).  She wanted Chick Fil A for lunch and they gave her a cow on a balloon.  She was EXCITED!  We took her to Toys R Us (I wanted to get her a kid sized XBOX controller).  We were planning on letting her shop for her present but she insisted she wanted this MICKEY M...

Where are Solomon's glasses?

We all went looking for Solomon's glasses this morning and as I rounded the corner I saw him bent over as if he was looking under a chair for them and I saw his glasses.  They were being worn as a belt!  He kept asking me, "ah see"  so I took lots of pictures to show him on the back of the camera.  Our neighbor brings us LOTS of oranges.  Since they are "juicers" I feed them to the kids outside.  We put Zelda on a stake in the yard so she can play too.  She just digs holes and rolls around on the ground mostly.  Malachi calls the big wheel his "motorcycle" and he will ride it down the hill rather quickly.  Oh and yes, they are still in their neon from last night.  They went straight to bed last night and even slept in this morning!  Daddy accidentally let us sleep til 6:30AM and all the kids stayed asleep til after 7AM when Jake and Aimi Lark had already left.  That NEVER happens, everyone in our ...

Dad-Date to Chuck E. Cheese

Jake comes home for dinner in between work and law school each day.  Yesterday I felt terrible because instead of a relaxing, recharge his exhausted batteries kind of meal he had a meal full of Solomon pitching fit after fit.  He said he loved it.  He told me afterward he loves family dinners, Family home evening, scripture study, family prayer, and family outings because he feels like our kids are already well into the digital world on their leap pads and he likes having time with them without technology.  It was really sweet.  Then he told me he wasn't going to class.  I was shocked.  He said he wanted to take the kids on a date.  I told him that was perfect because Malachi had just asked the two days before if Daddy could take him on a date because he cleaned his room.  (Jake is known to take each child on a date when they stand out for doing good)  Mali Su says (in a broken hearted voice) pretty often when he leaves for ...
