Solomon at 10 months 3 weeks

He's sharing food with his siblings, yep even that ice cream cone with Malachi at Chick Fil A. He's trying his hand at taking steps, and doing pretty stellar at it. He LOVES taking a bath, and spashing in any and all water he can find. He likes to pick things up and throw them.  Daddy said he did this all during his meeting in church yesterday.  Find something, pick it up, look at it for just a second, THROW IT, repeat. He's still a Momma's boy, I love him.

A New Desktop

I got a new desktop (thank-you Mia!!!) and it's amazing.  Who knew economical desktops these days came with big ol' fancy monitors!?  I obviously didn't but love it.  My Mom knows I'm wanting to do more schooling on the computer with my kids so now we have 3 computers total floating around our family so hopefully that helps.  The kids just want speakers for the old desktop.  Mali Su asked me for "ear speakers" like Uncle Brody.  It took me a second, HEADPHONES! I think I'm getting a head cold, it's no fun. I wish my kids would sleep in.  Last night they were up til 10ish with me taking Uncle Brody home.  They were still up and in our room at 6AM.  I'm sticking to my 6PMish bedtimes, because they're up at 6 no matter what. (I am posting this in 2019 and I'm pretty sure it's on the same desktop computer, this is from my drafts folder)

Blue Springs with Aunt Carol

We took Aunt Carol to Blue Springs in hope of seeing some manatees.  We saw a couple but our main finds were turtles and a big ol' 14 foot ALLIGATOR!  He was just sunning himself on the bank.  It was a way fun day and she even treated us to a fabulous Chick Fil A Lunch. We love you, Aunt Carol, Come visit anytime!

Medieval Times

We went to Medieval Times for our Anniversary.  Jake won tickets on a game show when he was younger. The game show was Wild Animal Games.  He won 12 tickets and his family invited some friends and in the end there were not enough tickets so he volunteered not to go.  Poor guy.  So he's always wanted to go.  We took the family and had a GREAT time.  They had a village to tour.  I was impressed with the show and the food.  To top it all off our RED KNIGHT WON!  Great night with great people.  It was a great way to celebrate our 8 years of marriage.  Maybe next year when we don't have a certain nursing little boy (Solomon) tagging along we can go on an overnight getaway.

Tiny Lizard

The girls rescued this tiny baby lizard from a pool noodle while swimming the other day.  These poor baby lizards don't move very fast, I think we always find them half-dead.  The sharing of the holding of the baby lizards always causes some fights.  Aimi Lark's turn holding the lizard was over so she went to kiss it before passing it to Mali Su.  Well Mr. Lizard stuck to her lips and Kaylene and I about died.  We were for sure it was going to run right into her mouth.  It didn't, we all laughed hysterically, and Mali Su got her turn.  Mali Su has learned to hold her hand open while holding baby lizards, the last baby lizard didn't get enough oxygen, sad.  I told her it was "sleeping" as she put it out into the yard, to be with its family.  When she was joyfully holding this baby lizard she told me it was the lizard she had put back with its family.  It was a perfect teaching moment about death, but I couldn't do it. ...

Happy President's Day to Me

Yesterday was our 8 year wedding anniversary. Anniversaries and birthdays should not be allowed to fall on a Sunday in our house. My sweet, kind, loving, spoiling husband has a hard time not being able to spend money. He's just not that creative. Well yesterday I took care of him all day, letting him rest his back, and today he took care of me by dropping me off for a facial and pedicure.  Then lunch at my favorite queso place. More on our anniversary later, our Saturday ROCKED.

Drill-Cation (phone pictures)

The weeks fly by, another drill-cation is right around the corner.

Aimi Lark is

very motherly.  She is great about caring for Malachi when he gets hurt. (like above)  She loves to hold babies and care for them. very manipulative.  She can be heard often asking for the little kids to trade with her.  She offers trades such as, "I'll hold your hand" or "I'll be nice to you" or "You can come in my room."  I can't knock it too much, it works. She is really a good girl 95% of the time.  Lately though she has some stubborn streaks.  It is quite trying but I've learned staying calm and being patient and holding my ground pays off. My Mom pointed out to me that I need to make sure I'm being patient and understanding with my children.  They have an environment that seems to change often with family coming in and out.  I know she's right.  Kids will be kids and I'm trying to always remember they are just that, kids (not adults).

Animal Kingdom

We spent the day at Animal Kingdom one day during the week before the Shillig 1s came to visit.  It's amazing the pictures I find on my phone sometimes.  These poor little piggies didn't even know what hit them when my kids came running, eager to brush them.  I need to find a farm for this girl to work on, she loves animals!  Solomon wasn't quite sure what to think, but he seemed to enjoy it.  This is a picture as Solomon is practically leaping from Jake's arms, into mine, as I'm taking a picture.  He loves and wants his mother all the time.  I told Jake recently, sometimes it's hard because he ALWAYS only wants me and even then I'm not able to make him 100% happy.  He's a needy fusser not a crier, but sometimes fussing noises and him wanting to be held/nursed can leave you tired.  Just petting an alligator, that's how we roll in FLO-RIDA.  So funny story, we were waiting first i...
