Dodger Daddy Daughter Date

Jake's Dad took them individually on dates growing up and one of them was to a LA Dodger Game.  Jake kept up that tradition by this year taking Aimi Lark to her first game!  It was also "Mormon" night at Dodger Stadium so that was fun to see a member of our church throw out the first pitch. Aimi Lark tried to get signatures on the ball she brought but just like when Jake was a kid, no such luck.  They had seats with access to free food and drink.  Jake said he didn't think it was worth it.  When I dropped them off at the stadium I took the other three to see the new Minion movie.  It gave me a headache with all the nonsense talking from those little yellow guys.

Malibu Seafood with Shillig 1s

The Shillig 1s went on a cross country trip AND back and during their time in CA we went to Malibu to eat with them for cousin Madison's birthday.  Look at all these cute kids!  These are from both sides of the family.  Chelsea (middle) is Jake's Mom's brother's son's wife and Kohl (R) is Jake's Dad's brother's daughter.  I loved chatting with these fellow "young moms" and all the family time!

4th of July (for Church)

My sweet boy took a little convincing that the bow tie and suspenders were the way to go.  He thankfully gave in to his Mama's desires for a patriotic family.  Solomon then didn't love the idea of where he was standing for the picture before we left for church.  I had a tough crowd this Sabbath morning.  I asked Grandpa to come in Primary to help with those two rowdy little Shillig cousins.   My sweet mother-in-law got us matching sweaters and it was perfect for the day. Red, White, & Blue holidays are my favorite.

Newport Beach mini-Vacation

When we checked in we had a view of the Newport Beach LDS temple!  We were so excited.    We of course hit the pool first thing!    Daddy had to sneak away for an Army work call thing.  We found an amazing Chipotle and dined finely.  When we returned we had these yummy treats since Daddy is a "gold" member and Solomon said that the fruit looked like a "rear end" oh dear children.  The next morning Daddy went into the office and we played at the pool again.  Daddy was running late so we ordered room service!  It was surprisingly cheap!  The boys then napped and looked so cute in that big ol' bed! There are some perks to Jake traveling often.  We get to use his points for fun when he's home!

Cards and Board Games on the Farm

Grammie LOVES to play cards and my kids LOVE to play board games.  It is always a good time! These memories are priceless

California Science Center (with the Carsons)

My father-in-law laid out expectations of behavior from the beginning.  He also let us know that we would follow the museum and see just about everything by always going to the right.  If you want to learn a ton just hit up a museum with this guy!  He reads all the plaques and tells you everything you want to know! I can't wait to go to the Natural History (dinosaur) museum when it's free (like this one).
