Mali Su & Malachi

(link to photo above blog post) They have come a long way in the fighting department. They were the WORST at getting at each other for SO LONG, but now it seems to have changed.  I noticed it, but today as we left the theme park and they were walking ahead of me sharing food they seemed like boy/girl twins to me. They are 15 months apart. They are about the same height  (I think Malachi has been lingering at an inch taller for a few years now) They are just adorable and I love them so much!

Mom is 33

I started working as a legal assistant at the SBA on my 33rd birthday. Jake works days, I work nights. He sent me the picture of Christmas setup & I loved it! He surprised me with an Apple Watch and I still LOVE it. THEN he and the kids surprised me at work with PUMPKIN PIE (my favorite) and decorations! Everyone at work sang to me too. It was a fabulously unexpected birthday.  I had low expectations thanks to Harvey, but it would have blown me away even with the highest expectations, love my sweet family and husband!

Thoughts

The news was on in the hotel lobby this morning again at breakfast and Aimi Lark said, "Mom why do so many men assault women?" and my heart broke and I said, "Because no one taught them that it's not ok" Today I start working as a legal assistant at the SBA.  I am working the night shift and Jake is working the day shift there as a general attorney.  I have shared few details here on our blog and looking back over the years I realized I was more open in the past.  I think now I worry about security and sharing too many details for the world to see.  I also worry that as our kids get older they will not want people to know everything that their Mother has to share as she rambles away on her blog. I have to write a paper today and tomorrow as well as sleep for my night shift. Today I am 33.  I don't know where I expected to be at 33, but I am certainly happy with where I am. I have taken life out of order in a sense.  I am going back to school and start...

Veterans Day

I went through some of my old blog posts and compiled some of my favorite military pictures. We are so blessed with so many Veterans surrounding us. I am so grateful for each and every one of them, especially my dear husband.

Deep Ellum, Texas

I had read about an area full of murals and street art.  Solomon loves art so I thought we'd take a drive to Dallas to check it out.  Jake works 6/10s right now so I try to fill Saturdays with outings that I think wouldn't necessarily be his cup of tea.  Staying busy and "living everywhere we live like a tourist" keeps me sane and brings me joy.  I love these kids, even if they bicker more than ever lately and it makes me want to pull my use my "mean mom" voice ALL the time.  When they saw the "when pigs fly" mural they were super happy and kept trying to imitate it.  They also tried to imitate the other murals we saw too.  That explains the wonky pictures. We went and got some "Trailer Cakes" that I also read about being a neat place to try.  We got mini-cupcakes this time.  We had some lunch and then took naps.  The kids just ...
