Take Your Kids (formally daughters) to Work Day

They love Jake's "smart" board.   Mali Su took over the game of "popcorn" for Jake at one point. The kids seemed to have had a blast today and were tuckered out when they walked in. I love that they had this experience with Jake! These are some great memories.

Ophthalmology Visit

Going to the ophthalmologist, alone, with four kids, might be the most exhausting endeavor I ever undertake in all my years of mothering (past and future).  But if it keeps this little girl looking straight ahead and not cross-eyed in her right eye, I'll do it every 3-6 months for the next who knows how long. Til next week when it's Solomon's turn...

Phone Pictures from the Last Week

The day after his last class for the semester Jake took the three oldest kids on a date.  Solomon fell asleep on the floor before it was time to go from a long day at Disney.  Good thing he stayed home because he got sick that night, I'm thinking from a day in the heat.  Do you see Mali Su in this picture with Aimi Lark?  This boy still loves leap pads!  Uncle Beau bought him one to replace the one we left in VA and he lost.  Valerie Naverette was baptized on Saturday morning.  I am her Sunday School teacher at church (I teach the 16-18 year olds).  Today is 12 years since I was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  We also went to a birthday part on Saturday at the Ulmer's house.  When we came home we saw this on our street.  I love this man of mine.  He can rock a pair of overalls.  Sunday night Jake suggested we cook together (we've never done that). ...

Jake in South Carolina with the Keetons

The guys went for a run a couple of nights.  Then they talked into the wee hours of the morning. (this is the laugh (it's hilarious and shocking when you've never heard it before) he did when we were dating at a movie theater on a double date with his brother Nate and my roommate Ashley) They visited this tunnel that I think was supposed to be for a train but the work got stopped by the civil war. Jake said it was a gorgeous sight with the light at the end of the tunnel like you hear about people speaking of in near death experiences. Jake and Marlyse sing in the tunnel.  Batting cages are always fun for guys (and girls Marlyse did it too!). Marlyse emailed me this: "Btw Kenny just said, "we don't need an amusement park, we have jake!" He went from playing with hadley to all the kids"  Shooting in the backyard, another reason I love the south, or rural living.  Marlyse called this the ...
