Malachi and his Dad

My handsome boy, ready to fight Darth Maul at Disney on his date with Dad.

I love his sweet little face, listening intently.  What a great profile he has.  My handsome Malachi Wes.

When you go to Disney they have professional photographers all around and they take pictures for you and give you a little card that you can see the pictures they took online and purchase.  I have looked at those cards online maybe 5 times in the years we have been going to Disney.  I always have my camera and know that these photos are way overpriced.
Well Jake took Malachi to Disney Saturday night and when he came home he gave me these cards and I threw them on my desk without much thought.  I cleaned my desk today and decided to give them a look since I wasn't there with them on their date.
I scrolled through the 273 pictures that were good, but none were that amazing until the
very
last
one...

Tears in my eyes as I just stared at the man I love, embracing his son in the way I see him do all the time.  He holds our children close and whispers in their ear.  He tells them he loves them.  He tells them he's proud of them.  He tells them all the wonderful things they need to hear.  He holds them close, showing them he loves them.  It's just a special bond and I am so grateful that the photographer at Disney caught this moment in time that represents the love my husband shows his children.

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
