Phone Pictures from the Last Week

The day after his last class for the semester Jake took the three oldest kids on a date.
Solomon fell asleep on the floor before it was time to go from a long day at Disney.  Good thing he stayed home because he got sick that night, I'm thinking from a day in the heat.  Do you see Mali Su in this picture with Aimi Lark?
This boy still loves leap pads!  Uncle Beau bought him one to replace the one we left in VA and he lost.
Valerie Naverette was baptized on Saturday morning.  I am her Sunday School teacher at church (I teach the 16-18 year olds).  Today is 12 years since I was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
We also went to a birthday part on Saturday at the Ulmer's house.
When we came home we saw this on our street.  I love this man of mine.  He can rock a pair of overalls.
Sunday night Jake suggested we cook together (we've never done that).  He said we should try some knock-off Cafe Rio and it came out AMAZING, super yummy.  It was quite "romantical."
Last night both boys were sick in the night with cold like symptoms.  Solomon had a runny nose and was thrashing about unable to sleep and said his "mouth" hurt so I assumed his throat.  Then Malachi came in sounding like a barking seal!  The doctor gave Malachi some meds for his "croup" cough (our first time with this in any of our kids).  Then Solomon an antibiotic for an inflamed throat and ears.  I took them for donuts for breakfast before our appointment with the pediatrician.
Jake is off taking his first final right now.  I'm so nervous since he was recently told he has to have a higher GPA than normal for China, thanks for the pressure FAMU!

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
