The last time we were in Monterey...

This: is what Jake was doing. (studying Mandarin at DLI) The next time we go to Monterey,  Jake will be doing this: That's right folks, today Jake was accepted. (well actually back on Mar. 30 but he never received the acceptance letter they sent in the mail) We are so proud of him! Now on to find a job in the area... (we are still waiting on 2 other schools so our decision isn't written in stone quite yet but exciting none-the-less)

Breakfast

I'm not as good as my mom was when I was growing up at serving a hot breakfast   every single morning .   BUT sometimes I do work it in my schedule.  Most times it is only on weekends, and as the case with this particular morning, when we are out of milk for cereal.   I'm sure the boys still prefer Capt. Crunch... or KONG cones from Macey's Grocery store (for FHE last night)

"This is Love"

The girls have this game they play. They dance together while singing "This is love, This is Love..." Aimi Lark will then runaway panicked saying "the clock is 12!" Mali Su will run after her saying "CINDERELLY WAIT!!!" Aimi Lark will then hide her face and sniffle. It is a very dramatic game. Sometimes their rolls are reversed and Mali Su is Cinderella. Funny thing is they haven't watched Cinderella in months. Good memories AND imaginations. LOVE IT!

Last week of Sports

This week we will wrap up both boys' Rugby and Soccer seasons. The boys have both made many improvements and are excelling in these sports. We could not be more proud! On Saturday Brody had a soccer game. He played goalie the first half and was on the field the second half. After the game Jake took time and taught him things so he could perfect his skills. For example: Tossing in the ball and keeping BOTH FEET on the ground. The kids love attending the games. Malachi hangs out on the blanket and Beau is such a helper. Jake is in the distance coaching Brody by the goal. Malachi enjoyed crawling ALL over me as soon as I pulled out my camera. Jake took a break from coaching Brody and the kids ran right to him. Aimi Lark spent her day climbing to the tip top of every piece of playground equipment. (she isn't clumsy like her mother and Mali Su ) Brody's team won! It was such a great game and we couldn't have asked for more perfect weather.

Visiting Shillig 2s

We had the opportunity this weekend to visit with Nate, Ashley, Madilyn, and their new baby boy BRAXTON! It was so great to chat, visit, and catch-up while the kids played. Jake loved their backyard and my kids loved all the toys. We arrived just as Seth and Larkie were leaving so it was fun to get a sibling picture (we know I'm all about pictures) . All the girls were so good! Jordan and Madilyn hugged as the Saragers left. There were plenty of outfit changes. Mali Su cracked us up because instead of a princess dress she went for more of the "athletic" style and even struck a little bit of a "gangsta" pose. Silly Mali Susie. Have I told you yet that Aimi Lark sometimes calls Mali Su, Mali SUSIE? well she does and Mali Su calls Aimi Lark, Ah (like open your mouth and say ahhh) Lark. Jake LOVED holding Braxton. He said Madilyn and Aimi Lark reminded him of each other and he talked about how natural it felt to hold Braxton. I love family visits. We were sad ...

Aimi Lark attends

her first non-mommy invited birthday party! Last week we got the CUTEST (and I mean CUTEST) personalized (her name spelled correctly) invitation on our door for Aimi Lark to attend a party for a girl in her sunbeam class from church. I went inside the party with Aimi Lark and Mali Su and I quickly noticed that all the other moms were dropping off their girls so I followed suit and called Jake to come get me and Mali Su. Jake saved the day promptly before Mali Su did anymore damage to the decorations. I think there is definitely a reason Mali Su was not invited and at her age Moms still stay at the parties...she is way too young to get that you don't go around ripping down all the balloons...oops. Aimi Lark came home with lots of party favors. It was fun to see her wearing her jewels, crown, and how obsessed she was with her wand! I am now excited to host a full-blown birthday for her this December. In years past I have had low-key family parties but I now see the excitement that...

Grad party #2 (the after-party)

We went and played Laser-Tag after the Keeton party. It was my first time to go and we had a BLAST! Our team won! Jake came in first overall. I came in 2ND to last on our team so I'm glad to know he has my back (because when he told me to have ours I got us both hit...oops) . Good Job, Shilligs, Saragers, and Keetons!

Graduation Party #2

Kenny graduated from BYU's Law School today. Tonight his family threw him a party. It was full of awesome food and plenty of fun conversations. Jake and the J.D. The J.D. and his wife (and Talon). Some of the conversation. Brother Keeton brought up chairs and was kind enough to pose for a picture with me. The girls. Jake and Sis. Keeton have fun when they talk. Jake mostly makes up stories (and tells them to William). Sis. Keeton made the CUTEST carrot cake complete with fondant topping in the shape of law books! It was a great party! Kenny and Marlyse will be here for awhile longer (we are excited b/c we can hang out). If I remember correctly Kenny will take the bar in July and should start work for AF Jag in Jan. Way to go Keetons!

Graduation Party #1

Luke and Kaylene walked for graduation at BYU today. They had planned a picnic at the park but after the weather turned cool and wet we decided to have it at our clubhouse instead. The party got started a little late so to pass the time some played pool, some put on pretend make-up while singing Disney songs, and others played SIMON SAYS (Mali Su was excellent at this game). Once the graduates arrived the party really got started. I laughed when I saw William like this, now he has protection from Malachi's poundings. Malachi did listen extremely well today, I was impressed, when I said "No" he stopped. This little car was the source of MANY fights among the children. Malachi is definitely a little boy. He LOVED this car! (oh and I major shout-out to my cousin Coty, she sent Malchi all the spectacular clothing items he has been wearing these days) I guess our conversations just weren't interesting enough for little Atticus or Jordan for that matter. She stripped ...
My sweet husband brought me home this beautiful orchid. I am scared to keep it alive but it says to "add three ice cubes/week" so maybe it will be easy?? I will say they are BEAUTIFUL flowers! Thank you my sweet husband.

Boys.

When I was a laurel in the Young Women program for our church we made these packets and in them we put things like where we wanted to get married (Manti LDS Temple, check), how many children we wanted to have (8, working on it), etc. Well let's get back to the "How many children I wanted" part of this. I will tell you, in that packet I put 6 boys and 2 girls. I think since I grew up with three younger brothers I was accustomed to "raising" boys. I thought they were the way to go. I still think boys are AWESOME so here are some pictures of boys. Luke and Brody played some chess back during Easter weekend. Beau rocked a faux-hawk and a lava lava for game day this week. Malachi was HORRIBLY fighting sleep the other day at Larkie's house. I asked Larkie if she had a bottle I could give him and try that. Well we put him in Atticus' crib. He got angry, threw the bottle and sat up and cried. He was thrashing about and I guess his hand hit the bottle. ...
