ROTC Dining-In

Picked up our sitter at PPC (pizza pie cafe)
(thanks Kayla and Josh)
arrived at the shin-dig

enjoyed a little mingle time
(all the pics look about the same just with different people)

Captain Williams and his wife Emily. They too are waiting to hear back from law schools for Cap. Williams. I hear he finishes up his job at BYU on July 1.

Brandon Conover is in the ROTC program at BYU. Brandon and his date Caroline Evans are from Jake's hometown/home ward of Frazier Park!

This is my friend Rebecca, her husband is Davis Wallentine who Jake was at DLI and FT Huachuca with (different classes/same time frame). She is such an inspiring lady and I love having her as a friend that I can learn so much from!

This is the champion ROTC couple. Husband and wife, the Rose family. Jake knows her grandparents from his hometown as well.
We then enjoyed a lovely dinner full of points of order and a GROG bowl
(completely alcohol free BYU style of course).

We received an alarming text from our sitter about Aimi Lark falling off her police car.
After checking, there was no blood, broken bones, or any other major injuries.
I enjoyed a late night movie (yes, still in my dress) with the ladies.
Seriously, A big big Thank-you to our faithful sitters Josh and Kayla.
I asked Kayla how the night went this morning as I took her to the bus stop and she said it was OK.
Aimi Lark had a scary fall off the police car
(hopefully she learned her lesson but I doubt it)
,
Mali Su peed on the (hardwood) floor,
and
Malachi woke up with a super bad fever.
See why I love my sitters?
She and Josh can handle it all!
Kayla leaves for TX on Friday...
we will miss her but are so excited she will be marrying Josh on
May 1 in the Houston, TX LDS Temple!

  5. Hot mama alert! You look gorgeous Caroline! How fun that you guys saw Brandon Conover and Caroline Evans there too. Looks like a fun night! I was just thinking while reading this post that Utah is probably the only place where you can go to a military ball and have the women dressed modestly and everyone isn't drunk.

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
