The last time we were in Monterey...

is what Jake was doing.
(studying Mandarin at DLI)
The next time we go to Monterey, 
Jake will be doing this:
That's right folks, today Jake was accepted.
(well actually back on Mar. 30 but he never received the acceptance letter they sent in the mail)
We are so proud of him!
Now on to find a job in the area...
(we are still waiting on 2 other schools so our decision isn't written in stone quite yet but exciting none-the-less)

    OH MY WORD...You're going back to Monterey?! What does it matter which other colleges accept him? How could you make a decision against Monterey? It would have to be something closer to family, right? So excited for you guys! CONGRATULATIONS!

    Congratulations! That is by us right? We have a membership at the aquarium which means we are down there every couple of months. It would be so much fun to have you close! That is such awesome news(and not just that you are going to be closer to me=)

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

 We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
