Brody receives the Aaronic Priesthood

Aaronic priesthood holders ages 12–18 prepare, bless, and administer the sacrament, collect fast offerings , assist in home teaching, and occasionally perform baptisms. All male members of the Church who are worthy and prepared may receive the priesthood to help lead the Church and serve Heavenly Father’s children. A man with the priesthood might serve by leading congregations of the Church, performing the ordinances of the Church (such as baptism), and blessing those who are sick. God expects those who hold this sacred priesthood authority to follow the example of Jesus Christ and serve with love, gentleness, and kindness. It was such a wonderful experience to be there as Jake spoke with Brody this morning about his duties as a Priesthood holder. I am so happy for Brody and the decisions he is making right now in his life. The missionaries that have been sharing with Beau and Brody came to our ward today. I was so happy as I sat in sacrament meeting today. I just kept laughing bec...

In case you missed it...

Malachi turned 9 months old on February 19. He can now crawl, wave, clap, and we are working on HIGH 5s (he is really close). He is however starting to show some "fit pitching" signs and this has us concerned. We love that he says " ba ba ba ba " sometimes for LONG periods of time. When he is saying this he makes the funniest faces. Neediness, not eating baby food, waking up during the night, long hair over his ears, cute chubby body, grin that lights up his face, and always taking off his socks and eating them, we LOVE HIM completely!

Aimi Lark

is 3 years and 2 months old today. She is still our calm, more laid back child. Lately though she has taken full hold of her "oldest" child role and is expressing herself more strongly. Last night at COSTCO she kept telling me "Mama, Mama, let me talk" and then would go on and on about different things that usually included her "being a good girl." At COSTCO she has discovered unloading the buggy and putting all the items on the conveyor belt. Last night Mali Su joined her in helping. Aimi Lark is quite the conversationalist as of late. She has plenty to say and honestly I LOVE HEARING IT! Now sometimes in the car when Mali Su and Malachi are both sleeping and she has PLENTY to say I'd rather she just sing along to Lady Ga Ga but then I stop being selfish and enjoy her even more. Her hair is as curly as ever but sadly has not expanded much in length. There are a few SUPER long pieces but since it is curly you can't really tell they are ther...

Beau got asked to

MORP! (which I'm told is PROM spelled backwards) Here in Utah (and other places I'm sure) they ask and answer dance requests in creative ways. We heard a knock on the door. Someone dropped off a cooler of sunkist with a card on top. The card said, "I would be "soda" lighted if you would go to Morp with me!" The boys were at Mutual at the church so Beau found it when he got home. On one of the cans it said to find out who was asking look on the bottom of the cans. It spelled a girl's name. Now he has to answer...

My dreams...

I think my dreams for the future change almost daily as I am presented with new ideas, possibilities, and such. Yesterday when talking to Jake on the way home from the airport (before we stopped for lunch) we were talking about my latest ideal future(that I told him over the phone while he was in TX). I told Jake that I want to go where ever accepts us(him) for law school, has a low cost of living, and he can get a job so he can do the law school's part time program (that way we stay debt free). After he completes law school I want him to get a job (of some sort) in Monterey , CA and we move there. The cost of living there is SUPER HIGH but I told him how I would happily rent for the rest of my life if I could live there again. I realized that I no longer want life to just be thrust upon me and for me to decide to live somewhere (I do not love or even like) because of a job, being able to buy a big house, or other circumstances. I want to be happy. I know I can be happy an...

Daddy comes home TOMORROW!!

Last night after the children went to sleep I went in to check on them one last time before going to bed myself. I love them so much. Mali Su is back in the crib...we are hoping for no more injuries due to falls. Today church was wonderful (not lonely or stressful like I expected) . We arrived 5 minutes early, the boys were so helpful getting us out the door and into church and both girls went straight to class. Brody took Aimi Lark to sit on the first row of sunbeams. Normally this is the part where Aimi Lark starts to get all worked up. She does not like the big group of all the kids in Primary at the beginning. I think the key is to have Brody take her and for us to get there earlier so that there are not as many people in the room. I walked in with Mali Su and she RAN to her nursery room door and excitedly yelled "THIS ONE! THIS ONE!" while pulling on the door handle. I barely opened the heavy door, she squeezed in and didn't look back. I thought to mysel...

GO TEXAS TOP TEAM!

Tonight Jake is at the Civic Center in Beaumont (where my High School Graduation was held) watching an MMA fight. My Uncle Michael (my Dad's brother) is coaching 3 fighters that are in the fights tonight. Jake is there with my family sitting in ringside seats. My Granddad Charlie, brother Kyle, Dad Tim, and husband Jake: Jake's view of the ring at the table with my brother Kyle, his girlfriend, My Aunt Linh (Michael's wife), and my Dad Tim: Jake and Kyle got a picture closer to the ring: I know Jake went to TX for business but I am so glad he is getting in some good sleep, food, family, and a little fun! At the end of the night Jake sent me this: This guy trains at Michael's school and he fought for the title tonight and won , it was amazing.

Lots of Random

We got snow the last two days. Sadly very little stuck. I don't know why but I am really hoping for one last hoorah with snow this year. When we got out of the car after going to the gym the girls had fun running around in it as the big flakes fell. After Beau's rugby game Aimi Lark kept telling me she wanted to "play soccer." I told her she would have to talk to her daddy about that one. She said about 10 more times on the ride home that she was going to play soccer. The girls had art time and must have dropped a crayon and now that Malachi is mobile HE FOUND IT! Aimi Lark has now started calling Malachi "Sonny Jim" like Jake and I do sometimes. The girls LOVE to wrestle with Malachi. He doesn't seem to mind but we stay close so they don't get too rough. Kayla tried showing me her "pinning of Malachi" technique she said she used once to feed him and it worked. Too bad for me it didn't work as well. He once again took a couple bi...
