I am quickly being thrust into the life of being the "mother" of a teenager.
Beau is giving me a CRASH course and to be quite honest it is stressful at times.
He is the KING of LAST MINUTE. Every time he walks in the door it is something LAST MINUTE.
"I need $25 for photography class, I have rugby practice,
I need folders to organize my school papers,
so and so is doing this can I go, I have math homework I don't understand, and the list goes on and on but it is always URGENT because it seems the life of a teenager is urgent and fast paced. My standard answer usually is "OK, let's talk to Jake" because Jake can stay cool, calm, and collected (and make rational decisions) during the rush of it all...Thank you Jake.

Sounds like you're handling everything perfectly! I've concluded that teenagers are God's way of encouraging us to help our little ones finally leave the nest. If they stayed as fun as Malachi we'd never want them to leave. He knows what's best for them and us! Beau seems to be doing quite well himself.
ReplyDeleteAre you doing the writing on his folders? What kind of school does he go to? If my mother made me cute little folders like that for school I would've gotten beat up!
