Kirbow-Gilley Wedding

While in Texas we were excited to be able to attend the wedding of my mother! She married a nice man that she has been dating and the ceremony was held at a church in Silsbee, TX. All my siblings were there and so were some of my mother's family. It was so much fun for my mom to have a "real" wedding. I brought my wedding dress for her to wear and she got the girls dresses and I took the boys shopping that day for church clothes. The wedding was held in the evening and was followed by a reception next door. Here are some pictures of the festivities. 4 generations on my mom's side. This is Carolyn Rae Sellers, Amy Lee Kirbow, Amy Caroline Wilhite, Aimi Lark Shillig, & Mali Su Shillig

Aimi Lark loved

holding this little puppy at my mom's house. In this picture she is saying "arf." She loved that unlike our cat that the puppy didn't run away from her or wiggle out of her arms and that it just let her carry it around. I think when we move to Texas this summer we may have to get her a tiny puppy or dog like my mom has.

Flying to Texas

On Monday morning we flew to Texas after being picked up at the SLC airport at 130AM by Jake's mission buddy Huntzinger and brought back to the airport at 5AM to catch our flight. We were lucky enough that this flight was NOT delayed. The ONLY one of our trip. When we arrived in Houston we were STARVING and all Jake wanted was some good southern food. We went to Pappa's seafood and Jake had his most amazing meal ever, the fish Pontchartrain, and I had some much wanted crawfish etouffee. Needless to say it was amazing! Aimi Lark enjoyed some bonding time with my mom/her Mia. She warmed up to her right away. After lunch we drove back to the house where Jake and I set down our stuff and headed out to pick up two of my siblings and visit some family. We made a stop at my best friend and cousin's house Marianne and let the kids play for a bit before we headed home to get some sleep. Well we didn't end up sleeping but did end up playing Guitar Hero. I think Guita...

Our last day in CA

we woke up to find the girls in bed together eating M&Ms. Aimi Lark got out of bed with me and in the pack and play with Mali Su and somehow got the snacks off the dresser and she and Mali Su had a nutritious breakfast. Jake and I let them have their fun while we for the first time the whole trip cuddled in bed. Jake had been sleeping on a twin bed and me in the double bed with Aimi Lark and Mali Su in the pack and play so we were grateful for the girls impromtu breakfast picnic. Jake's Aunt Stacey and her family stopped by the farm to visit after church on Sunday. It was great to see them! We were able to go to church in Frazier Park and we were surprised to see how much the ward had changed. After church we showered, did laundry, visited with family, and then headed out. We hadn't even made it to Castaic before we hit killer CA traffic! It was so stressful to wonder if we would make our flight on time. Lark did some amazing back road maneuvers and we got to LA in...

Geoffrey and Joni's wedding

On Saturday we got up early and headed down to the Los Angeles LDS Temple for Jake's cousin's wedding. It was a wonderful ceremony and we were grateful to have Aunt Audrey, Aunt Kailie, Aunt Elliana, and Uncle Isaac at the temple to help out with our girls. Aimi Lark did fall and scrape her chin while we were gone but nothing too bad. It was surprisingly chilly that day but we had a great time seeing all Jake's extended family. Jake enjoyed talking to his cousins and playing catch-up with everyone.

Aimi Lark turns 2

While in CA Aimi Lark turned 2! We went to the church in the morning for the guys to play basketball, then hung out at Kurt and Amy's house, (Mali Su thought Aunt Amy was HILARIOUS!) and had a wonderful party for Aimi Lark that evening at the pizza place in town called "Cave man Cavey's" and saw my cousin Elder Nate Jarrell who is serving a mission for our church coincidentally in Jake's hometown of Frazier Park, CA!

Christmas Day at the Shillig Farm

We spent the day and night riding dirt bikes, playing games, eating good food, and spending time with family. Jake took me for a very slow dirt bike ride but it was BUMPY. I grew up riding 4 wheelers so these are foreign to me but Jake and his family love them! Elliana, Jake's youngest sister, got one on Christmas morning. The Shilligs have this dog named "baby" and it wants to cuddle all the time. Our niece Alaina had the cutest relationship with this dog. A box of legos entertained Aimi Lark while we all played games in the living room. We didn't go anywhere all day and it was amazing! It was so fun to have a relaxing laid back Christmas morning, day and night.
