UTI for Mali Su. My poor little baby. She had some rough symptoms this weekend that we recognized as the same as when she had her UTI a few months back.

Symptoms are: Fever, crying when urinating, exhausted after urinating to the point she just lays on my shoulder breathing as if she just ran a marathon, odd smelling urine (not intended to be graphic but I am glad I can recognize the symptoms now in my little one.)

Today we took her in to the Dr. and she went potty in the little bag without a problem and after they tested it she was given a prescription for an antibiotic. This will clear it up right away. They did say if she has another UTI in the next year they will want to send her to a urologist to have her checked out.

(Aimi Lark started signing "candy" as soon as we walked in the door (they always have suckers) and she enjoyed having Jake read to her)

The girls did also get their second round of Flu shot today. They both did well. Aimi Lark tensed up when she got hers causing her to whimper a bit but no crying so we were good. Mali Su on the other hand just sat there smiling at the nurse. Mali Su is so sweet and oblivious sometimes and it is so cute!

  1. Sorry I have been so lax about commenting. Life has been crazy around here and I have had to start monitoring the time I spend on the internet :). Poor baby! I'm so sorry! That is amazing that Aimi Lark is signing. I have been trying to teach Caden some, the only one he has picked up so far is 'all done.' I miss you guys and can't wait for the family reunion!

  2. That is so sad! It's got to be so hard to have kids that are hurting and there's nothing you can do to immediately help them.

  3. I am so sorry!! Sick kids are never fun. I have not had to experience my boys having UTI's, but I can only imagine. I have heard they are bad for adults, let alone kids!!

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
