City Soccer League

Yesterday Brody had a game in South Provo. I plugged the address to the field in WRONG on my Droid so as I was driving Jake was looking at the address saying that the GPS was WRONG. Sure enough it was, but all because I plugged it in wrong and he was reading the address correctly. It was a long drive but we made it in plenty of time. I tried to keep the kids entertained on the grass by the field (these fields were just that, FIELDS, no playground, lame). After exhausting my one snack (a single pack of smarties) I had in my "mom bag" (acu backpack) I handed Mali Su my lip gloss, started trying to entertain Malachi with a water bottle and the camera, looked up to see that (after months of putting on lipgloss) Mali Su finally learned to SQUEEZE the tube...YIKES!
She thought she looked pretty so that's all that counts right?
Aimi Lark came over shortly after.
She had been standing by Jake who was standing by the goal coaching Brody in real-time.
Brody played goalie for the first half and then on the field the second half. This was EASILY his best game yet. He is making such great improvements in his soccer games.

I will say it was more fun to entertain the girls outside on the grass than it was a couple weeks ago at Brody's game in a BLIZZARD (well rain/sleet/snow).
I spent pretty much the entire game in the sequoia with the kids so that they didn't freeze.
I tried once again to entertain the kids with anything I had on hand. This time it was taking pictures (lots of them) and the kids saying "let me see" (they look at picture just taken) and say, "CUTE!"

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
