Malachi is 18 months old!

He went to nursery for the first time on Sunday.  I hear he did GREAT and wasn't a crier.
He now gives closed mouth kisses, broke my heart a little, OK maybe more than a little.
He cuddles me, let's me rub his back and run my fingers through his hair.  It fills me with so much joy!
He sometimes pulls stuff off the tree mischievously and runs away and other times I see him just sitting by the tree soaking it all in and it melts my heart.
He is so good when we go to Disney.  He makes sure and points at everything for us.  He also thinks it is fun to walk underneath the railings that guide the line, sometimes he runs off.
He now signs "more" and "thank-you."
He came up to me saying something that after he said it about 10 times I got it, he was saying CAR as I followed him to open up his room.  He jumped on the red wiggle car and zoomed away, he's fast on that thing!
He pretends to get "mocos" out of your nose by pinching your nose gently and rubs his fingers together to get rid of them as he holds his hand away from his body.
He points with his tiny pointer finger at a freckle or owie and says "ow" and has a look of genuine concern on his face.
He sometimes gets REALLY angry.  He doesn't pitch fits or cry but you can tell he is just
plain
ol'
ticked off.
I always have to fight the urge to laugh but he does let me cuddle him normally when he's like this.
Even though not cutting his hair is totally Jake's thing, I realized I think his hair is pretty cute.
He loves to get bugs that he sees, he growls at them ferociously too.
You can often find him laying on his stomach, he likes to be copy his sisters.
Oh how I love having a son, it is so wonderful, so fulfilling, and I feel blessed to have you Malachi Wes.

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
