Gratitude day 2

I am grateful for modern medicine.  I feel so blessed to live in a time where my children and our entire family are healthy.  I contribute that in major part to modern medicine and the blessing that is in each of our lives.  Today I was able to get a brief check-up and have hopefully figured things out for another appointment in the next couple of weeks.  While at my check-up I was told I'm considered "high risk" with my pregnancy due to my thyroid issues in the past (and current swollen lymph node) and also my lack of prenatal care so far this pregnancy (due to moving/insurance issues).  While I do worry about being considered "high risk" I know that we are blessed to live in a time that is adequately able to take care of issues that may arise with my pregnancy due to this.
Immunizations, surgeries, hospitals, knowledgeable doctors and nurses,
Modern medicine, what a blessing!
Beau donated blood today at school.

  1. Yay for modern medicine indeed! Did I ever reply to your email? I thought I did then I thought I didn't. If I never sent you my address, email me again!

  2. I join you in your gratitude! I was so happy to give Kate her steroid shot last week to help her breathe, and that Mike got his achilles reattached this summer. If it wasn't for the latter, he'd be crippled for the rest of his life. If it wasn't for Kate's shot, I don't know what would have happened...

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
