Life

is more stressful than I'd like it to be today.
I had a nice relaxing day that included sleeping in AND a nap, but yet I'm feeling overwhelmed.
I blame the fact that I did so little today (and yesterday) and now I feel frazzled playing catch-up from last week and such.
The boys and homework are about to kill me.  When did schools start requiring so much!?  I do not remember high school being so much work.  I stress over it but Jake does all the actual work with them.  That fact stresses me out even more because he will be gone part of next semester and he helps Beau a lot.
I just paid bills, I love online payments, and I love that my water bill comes in a nice blue envelope so I can see it easily.  It helps me to remember it is due when it is among my stack of papers on my computer desk.
Jake is in the kids' room with them and I believe he is attempting to study for his final while they play, I doubt he's able to study, it sounds pretty wild in there.
I am listening to Pandora's Christmas radio station online, it's kinda helping with the stress, kinda.
Well I guess that's enough complaining for today.
(Brody doing math homework on the floor since Jake was in the middle of cleaning the dining room table,
we thought he looked like a little monkey)

  2. Homework is killing me off, too, and my kids are still in elementary school. I can't believe how much my 5th grader gets, though. It's crazy!

  3. You get to be lazy your prego! Just have the boys not do their homework when Jake is gone. You are the only parent, know body has to know. I'm sure the boys will be ok with not doing homework. J/K :)

  4. :( I'm sorry things have been so crazy for you. Just remember it's part hormones, part "coming back from relaxing vacation time" deal :) It's ok, deep breath :) Many hugs!

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
