Gratitude Day 21

Tonight I am grateful for technology.
After working for a little while and being half-way done with a paper for Beau's history class Jake's laptop crashes, well the screen goes black with all kinds of dos looking mumbo-jumbo on the screen.  It shuts down and I restart it.  I'm so upset, upset that I had yet to save his work.  Well when the computer re-boots and I restart the word processor program it says that my last work was not saved due to an
"unexpected shut down" of my computer,
would I like to recover the document?
OF COURSE I'D LIKE TO RECOVER THE DOCUMENT!!
I was so grateful at that moment.  That was my first experience with something like that.
How awesome is technology!?
Beau's assignment has been successfully turned in,
thank-you and good-night.

  2. I was SO scared that would happen to me while I was writing my thesis. It did happen to me though when I was in Italy writing my final research paper....entire 9 pages unrecoverable. I had to do some praying to not cry from anger.

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
