Malachi is 22 months and 5 days old

He now comes to me sometimes and says, "Where?" while holding his hands in front of him.  He has the most sincerely questioning look on his face.  Half the time I don't know what he's looking for.

He still thinks he's a puppy and acts this way often.  He does this when you call for him, crawls on all fours on the floor like a dog.  Cute, but hard when you're in a hurry or want to change his diaper.
He still loves books.  I need to expand our library so he can read continually.
He likes to sit at the computer and watch the screen saver slide show of the all the pictures and say who is in each picture as it goes by.
He will spit at you when he's being silly or protesting you telling him not to do something, not a real spitting but a tongue sticking out and blowing it to make that pooting sound and spit comes out.

His pretend finger guns, aim and cocks thumb and makes spitting shooting noises with his mouth.  He's done this for awhile but his guns have evolved from two pointer fingers to one hand and major squinting to "aim" I guess.

He had TONS of mosquito bites that he would scratch.  After much effort on our part to keep him in long sleeves and pants he has healed up.

"HI!" he loves to say, and wave.  Especially when he's in trouble.

He knows parts of face and other body parts.  I love when he points them out on himself and then you.

He is getting down the I LOVE YOU sign.

He calls me "Mom Mom" vs "Mama" and it's seriously cute.

He LOVES asking Mia for "juice" AKA "medicine coke."

He hides in the pantry and often times finds his own snacks he brings out and asks us to open or prepare.

I made chocolate covered strawberries and gave the kids some.  I came back and he had eaten not only the chocolate and the strawberry but the stem/leafy part too!

I heard him recently say "ARIEL! ahhh uh ahhhh ahhh uh ahhhh" when playing w/the girls and all their toys.  He is great at recognizing almost all the Disney characters we have.

He can NEVER manage to wear sunglasses correctly.  He always finds sunglasses to wear and puts them on upside down but this past week at Uncle Aaron's he did it!  I was shocked, he wore them correctly.  Then about 30 seconds later I see him again and they're wrong again, silly boy.

I'm sure this isn't much of a change from last month but these are some tidbits I emailed to myself that I wanted to remember.

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
