Mali Su is 3 years 1 month and 6 days old

Mali Su is beautiful, smart, and funny!
I find that the way I see her and describe her in my mind.
She catches on to things she is taught so quickly.
She has beautiful light blue eyes and long loose curls.
She is witty, makes many faces, and says the funniest things.
She loves "lollipop cereal" also known as "Honey Bunches of Oats."  We finally realized that to her the honey comb on a stick on the front looks like a lollipop to her.
She LOVES animals so very much.
She always tells me she wants to go to the beach.
She cannot wait to turn 4 and get a bike.
She is very slow in getting her shoes on or buckling herself in the car.
She is a FANTASTIC cleaner and helper.
She is really outgrowing her stubbornness and amazes us with her manners and ability to listen.
She still has some melt-down stubborn moments but they are more tolerable and much shorter lived than in days past.
She is clumsy and I'll admit, just a little bit ditsy.
She is a PERFECT sleeper and eater.  She comes to you after she wakes up with the sweetest smile and waits to be acknowledged and asked about how she slept.
She always asks, "why do we always sleep?"  "why do we keep praying?"  "why do I always wear that?"
She always wants her hair braided and to braid the hair of others.
During church on Sunday a baby was being blessed.  Her arms were folded, her head was bowed, and then during the blessing the baby's name was said, "Mia" was the baby's name.  Mali Su unfolded her arms, swiftly lifted her head, looked at me and said loudly, "MIA!?" in the most inquisitive way.  As if to say, "How could their be 2 Mias??" (Mia is what they call my Mom)
This same Sunday she excitedly ran to the doors of the church, opened them, got the biggest smile of excitement on her face and loudly yelled, "ELDERS!" when she saw them.  She ran and gave them both five and  you can tell she made their day.
She asks often to play the game "angry birds" on our (or her primary teacher's) phones.
She has learned to recognize people she knows from church.  She excitedly saw a teacher at Brody's boy scout function and said, "HEY!  He's at my class!"
Her prayers are still the most beautiful, hilarious, and long winded things.
I cannot get enough of this girl and the person she is growing to be.
I love you Mali Su Shillig, I really really do.
(taking off her shoes at Leu Gardens, priceless)

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
