Let me take a minute to brag.

My brothers, I love them.
I will admit sometimes they drive me batty, I get exhausted from "mothering" them, but then they have these shining star moments and I realize that they really are good kids.
For example today Brody spent the morning at a deacon/beehive (his age group at church) etiquette lunch, then sold Boy Scout cards out front of the local Publix, THEN went and mowed someone's yard.  He just got home and proudly brought me the money he had made mowing the yard.  I love him.  He makes me happy with all the good choices he makes.  He even checks his grades online himself.  Now if we can just keep him from talking in class, drumming incessantly on everything, not rushing through his school work, and not being so forgetful we'd be all set.
Beau is making MAJOR progress in school.  He has learned so much responsibility in making sure he turns in his assignments.  That was a big road block, him forgetting and losing assignments.  Now his grades show his effort!  He has a big research paper due on Monday and he has worked hard on it with Jake.  Tonight he is at a Stake Dance (church dance for youth) and I could not be more proud with the choices he is making daily and for his future.  He helps me so much!  He does like to pick on me for looking SO PREGNANT but I know it is all in fun.  If we could just get him to not leave his stuff lying around we'd be A-OK.
I'm so grateful for me brothers and the opportunity I've had and am having to "raise" them and have them live with us.  I admit it isn't always easy but I know it has taught us all so much.  I love you boys!

  2. You're doing a great job raising them. I am constantly impressed that you guys are keeping it together with three little ones and the two older ones. The needs and frustrations are so different and yet you balance it all with grace.

  4. You amaze me! I think you are doing such a great job with ALL your kids, brothers included. You are such a big influence for good in their lives and they need that, especially at this time in their lives. They are lucky to have you as a sister!

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
