Another Daddy Moment

So I was napping peacefully and awoke to an empty bed and quiet house.  I checked my phone and on it was a video from Jake of the kids playing in the puddles at the park.
I jumped up and headed over.
I couldn't let them have all that fun without me (or my camera).
The girls would RUN in the water while laying across these swings.

Mali Su was easily the one who loves stuff like this the most.
Malachi ran up and down this strip of puddle, reminded me of a slip and slide.

Aimi Lark was hesitant to leave her "mud-cake" she had worked so hard one.  She and Mali Su were quite the bakes and make "mud-cookies" as well.
Yet another reason why I love the rain!

  1. This would be so fun as a little kid. You are an awesome mom, I think i would be frustrated at first if Luke let William get all muddy... that's why kids need dads;)

  2. That does look like fun- when I was little, every puddle always had fireants in it! So, I became weary of fireants in all the puddles. Glad you haven't had that experience! And, the kids look like they're having a blast :) (then, hose them down and bath time!!)

  3. I don't think I could let go enough to let my kids do this. How fun!

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
