My hips hurt,
did I mention my hips hurt?
Just to clarify,
my hips HURT.
It's like they are dislocated AND I have arthritis
(even though I don't know what that feels like).
Other than that I'm A-OK.
My mom and Jake take care of EVERYTHING,
ALL THE TIME, seriously they do.
The other morning I was out of bed and my mom asked why I was up.
Am I really in bed that much?  That being in bed is the norm versus being up?
Well, I will be 37 weeks tomorrow, FULL TERM, Jake's favorite.
Aimi Lark spoiled us by coming at 37 weeks.
Mali Su tortured us by coming at 41 weeks.
Malachi was just right at 38 and a half weeks.
Solomon Roy Shillig, I love you so much already!
I'm just excited to see your face!

  2. You can tell little Solomon is a BIG, full-grown baby! He must be running out of space in your little body...looks like there's not an ounce of room left there! :) I can only imagine that being in bed is relatively good for those hips at this point- I mean, that's one big baby boy you're supporting. And, that's wonderful that your mom and Jake are there to help so much :) Kudos to mom and Jake!

  4. You look great! I cant believe Mali Su came so late! I hope this one comes at just eh right time as well. I've heard that the more kiddos you have the more your hips are going to hurt in future pregnancies. So far so good but I havent had kid #4 yet! Good luck with everything!

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
