Mali Su in her Gifted Class

When we first moved here I asked what we could do to make sure Mali Su's needs were being met.  In kindergarten she was in with 1st graders so I worried that mainstream 1st grade would be "easy" for her and sure enough, each day she'd come home and say "1st grade is soooo easy" as she completed her weeks worth of homework in 15 minutes.  Now I'll admit it was soooo easy for me when she was in her mainstream 1st grade class, but I like that they tested her and moved her to the "gifted" classroom.  I went to her classroom for a reading session of stories she had written and this was my favorite.  It is about last Thanksgiving and our trip to Utah for Aunt Audrey's wedding to Uncle Trevor.

Mali Su seeks out learning and understanding.  I love this about her personality.
She does things with exactness and expects the same of others.
I love her!

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
