Aimi Lark is in 2nd Grade (will be 8 this Month)

Aimi Lark does well in school without much effort on my part or hers, she reminds me of myself in that regard.  She seems content to do well, but isn't seeking out all the extras.  She is content and I like that about her personality.  I think contentment is a skill we can all master in our lives.

She is sneaky.  At the beginning of this year she hid her reading packet in the clubhouse (made from a couch box) and Mali Su told on her.

She loves school field trips and just yesterday went to see the Nutcracker ballet.  She told me all about it in great detail and I saw her reading her program in the car.  She told me her friend had to tell her the ending of the ballet because it was "so long" and she fell asleep.

She is an amazing helper to me, and I never have to ask her more than once for help.  She is like a little mother to Solomon when I need her to be and I appreciate that.  She does not butt heads with Solomon or Malachi and that helps tons since Mali Su and Malachi butt heads so often.  Mali Su is usually the decider of things among the two girls and I think that is just because Aimi Lark's personality is more laid back like her Daddy's.

When Aimi Lark gets upset or decides to be stubborn about something she really commits to it.  She will scream out if she's angry or refuse to cooperate (especially if she gets embarrassed).

She is doing amazing things in gymnastics and overcoming her embarrassed/scared to fail feelings.  I am so proud of her.

She always fixes her own hair in a low ponytail.  She is very simplistic in regards to her clothes and her hair.

She bites her nails, a habit that came about in the last year I'd say.

She is a sweet cuddler and says kind things.

She is a great organizer/cleaner when she wants to be.  I love to see the way she sets up her room.

She likes to climb trees these days.

She gets good reports from school.

She acts SUPER silly/hyper sometimes and it is funny to see her like that.

She is our kind, easier going child and I love her so much.
I love you Aimi Lark, keep choosing the right and doing great things.
You are a joy in our life.

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
