Caroline turns 30!

I woke up bright and early on my 30th birthday and tried to quietly kill time getting ready until Jake woke up.

He had to work that day so I took a taxi to the Temple of Heaven. It was wonderful!

The Temple of Heaven, literally the Altar of Heaven is a complex of religious buildings situated in the southeastern part of central Beijing.

On my way home I was able to see a pretty famous building. I love taking the metro/subway but there is just something nice about sightseeing via a taxi ride.

I was grateful for birthday wishes even though I was far away. I walked to the store that afternoon for some french fries after my nap.

Jake messaged me and asked if I was dressed and I said, "yes" and the next thing I know there is a knock on my door and a hotel employee is whisking me away for a fancy massage. I was so excited!

Little did I know my birthday day was just the beginning!

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween! Possibly ever! Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully. He even had the cutest song he sang. I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
