Beau asked a girl to prom...

Her name is Bonnie.

It took a little bit for us to track down her address but after some searching we found her and were on our way.

I told you about how we brainstormed for hours on Easter, all about how he should ask her...
Well after lots (and lots) of ludicrous ideas we fine tuned them into (what we think are) some great ideas.

Drop off #1:
(done by Jake in uniform)
What started out as a "crazy" idea to use "real" hair from Beau's head was then shaped into a good idea. We dropped off a lock of the girls' cabbage patch doll's hair with a note that read,
"I'm losing my hair trying to think of a way to ask you to prom..."
This clue was all about adding to the suspense and also buying us some time for the really good idea.

Drop off #2:
(also done by Jake in uniform)
Bag of animal crackers with a note that read,
"Are these crackers or cookies? Who cares, we both know you just want to find out who is asking you to prom..."

And tonight brought the actual asking and it went a little something like this:

Don't mind the fact that I recorded a recording. I sent Kayla with my real video camera but I forgot I can't get my real video footage on the computer so I hooked up my real video camera to the TV and then taped that with my digital camera for all to enjoy.

Thanks Luke, Josh, Brody, and Jake for helping Beau out on this one.

Now we just await her response...let's hope it is swift because prom is a week from Saturday!!!

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
