Soccer Saturday

Started out with Malachi taking a nap in his high chair. I moved him to his bed and he angrily woke up. I guess sleeping upright was more comfortable.
Brody takes our family STATE FARM soccer ball to warm up with. Jake's brother Nate is an agent here in Utah.
Beau brought his Rugby ball and kept himself and Malachi well entertained.
Having the games with playground equipment right near-by is wonderful!
Malachi has never minded grass but I think it was the transition from the blanket to the grass that was getting him. He would begin to crawl off the blanket and lift up his hands looking confused. Finally he just took off crawling across the grass.
Aimi Lark LOVED this little walk-way bridge/stepping stone type thing. She didn't get how to do it at first but she caught on quick. At one point there were tons of kids on them crossing each way. There was a boy across from her about to step on the same one she was and she said, "Excuse me, can you please move?" in the sweetest voice.

Mali Su couldn't quite get the hang of the stepping stone thing so she went over to the ladder. She told me to take her picture again (and again, and again).Brody was alert and on his toes.
He was able to block quite a few shots. This other team was FIERCE and some of the boys were HUGE.
Beau had fun enticing Malachi to crawl to him. Beau and Brody are such great helpers with the kids.
After the game we met up with Rebecca and Allie Wallentine at In-N-Out. Her husband is at the same FTX as Jake. I will quote her facebook: "In n Out just as festival of colors is ending... Not the brightest idea"

Now it is nap time again.
I am hoping Jake calls and tells me to come get him because he is done, but I'm not getting my hopes up.

  1. Looks like fantastic weather. Something fun for everybody. Lots of smiles in those pictures!! I remember when Nate tried to crawl on grass for the first time. It seemed to creep him out so he just sat there confused. lol

  3. I want to play on those stepping stone things, I bet it would be fun to play hot lava monster on those. I of course maybe that isn't as fun as it was when I was 6. Still it looks like you guys had a lot of fun.

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
