A Miracle

My heart is so overly joyed to report that my best friend/cousin Marianne's little boy Ethan is making what looks to be a FULL recovery (she and I just had a nice long chat on the phone).

Yesterday morning Ethan nearly drown in the grandparent's pool. He was without a pulse. His Uncle started CPR and then a neighbor who is a nurse (and was supposed to be at work that day) came over and continued CPR til the paramedics arrived and took over. They took him to a hospital in Beaumont. He was then flown to Houston to the Children's hospital there where today they removed the ventilator and he is speaking, eating and doing all those things he did before. He has always loved puzzles (as seen here in an old photo of him and his Aunt Monica)
and is doing puzzles, coloring, naming his letters, and wanting to be held tons by his Mama.
I know that the Lord hears our prayers, knows what is best for us, and I am grateful for this miracle.

  5. We're so thrilled that he still loves puzzles! Anything would have been fine as long as he survived but it's even better that he still has his same personality and abilities.

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
