Colored Eggs for FHE

I realized yesterday afternoon that I wanted to color eggs for FHE (family home evening).
I made some phone calls, ran to the store, and voila, INSTANT FHE!
It went great. We just had to keep the girls from drinking the vinegar/water solution and try and keep my white counter-tops from being turned a beautiful array pastel colors.Jordan lost interest after a little bit and preferred to watch CURIOUS GEORGE in the playroom. Deep down I wished my girls liked TV enough to watch CURIOUS GEORGE in the playroom.
It was stressful keeping an eye on them while trying to make smoothies.
Beau came home from Rugby practice just in time to join us. The smoothies we made were his choosing. He likes CIB (carnation instant breakfast) smoothies. The elders showed up and shared with Beau (and us). It was the perfect FHE lesson.

Aimi Lark is DEFINITELY right handed. She ONLY had color on her right hand. We think Mali Su is a bit more ambidextrous because BOTH her hands were EQUALLY colored/stained.
Mali Su worked so so hard for so so long to pick up the egg out of the cup with the "key" (copper spoon thing). When she did get it out she would blow on the egg (maybe to dry it?) and we just cracked up watching her concentration. I am now officially excited for Easter weekend!
Not to mention that Jake's family is coming into town from CA!
Thanks Larkie for the pictures from your camera and THANKS Mama for buying me a new camera via costco.com! I am so excited for it to arrive in 7-10 days!

  3. I miss coloring eggs! How fun! I love how you talked about their hands being colored! Those "key" things were hard to use, if I remember correctly! I can't wait to hear how much you love your new camera!

  5. Fun Family Home Evening!! My Mama used to let us color on our white eggs with crayon before we dyed them so they had designs. (the wax repelled the dye) Enjoy the new camera!

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
