Making the best of what could have been a rough day

I decided to take the kids sledding this evening. The snow was too gorgeous (despite causing the wreck) to pass up. Mali Su doesn't sled. She prefers to walk around and get on the playground equipment. She stood in one spot for a good while staring at her glum (glove) until I asked her if she wanted me to put it back on her. She is our stubborn one.
Aimi Lark once again hit the hills with Uncle Brody. Uncle Brody had me sled down and I was not successful. I fell out at the bottom and tried to catch myself with my arms and now my left shoulder is sore. THEN to top it off on my way up the hill my phone rang, I answered it, and fell on some ice and bit my tongue. I am the least coordinated person I know. Uncle Brody enjoyed himself even though we didn't stay very long. It was COLD, crowded, started snowing and getting dark.

And just for a good smile, here is Malachi in an IN-N-OUT hat. Oh and one last thing. My mom is trying to make it out for Brody's baptism so it will be postponed until sometime in January. Thank you for all the happy comments about his baptism.

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
