ROTC Christmas Ball

Tonight Jake and I attended our last ROTC formal dinner. When I came out in my dress Aimi Lark was in awe. She kept calling me a princess and she even went and got my slippers (my flip flops) and put them on my feet and she was in love. I loved how excited she was but when we had to leave she broke down. Kayla did her best to distract her but she quickly realized her princess was gone and was distraught. Mali Su then realized Aimi Lark was crying and decided to join in.
The venue changed at the last minute from the Hinckley center and I was a bit worried about wearing my super fancy dress to a not so fancy location. No your eyes are not deceiving you...those carpeted walls behind us are those of an LDS stake center. It was so great to see everyone. Jake's MS III teacher Capt. Williams and his wife Emily are always great to visit with. Heidi and Jarom Ricks are people we sorta met at DLI but got to know even better here in Provo. I was happy to see that plenty of us ladies were dressed up nicely. When we got home the girls were so excited! Aimi Lark continually called me "Princess" as we danced in the kitchen. We cannot forget our awesome sitters who love to play video games!!! Kayla is obsessed
(not really, Jake and Josh made her play, but deep down I think she LOVED it).

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
