Jake turned in his LAST paper today and now only has 4 finals standing between him and graduation.

I brought an Oreo cake to Brody's school today because his birthday is tomorrow. He will be 12 on the 12th, his GOLDEN birthday.

I am working on all the details for Jake's commissioning ceremony/party.
I am so happy for him. He is so much more excited about commissioning than graduating from school even though they go hand in hand.

The girls are really getting into Christmas. Our home teachers dropped off some treats and Jake told them they were from SANTA. Now Aimi Lark tells us that Santa brought her treats! She also keeps asking for her birthday. She doesn't know it is at the end of the month but she LOVES birthdays!

It has been in the single digits temperature wise this week and the girls are not big fans. Yesterday we had to go to town and when Jake went to load up the girls they broke down. They were so cold they just cried and ceased to function. It made me so grateful for a heated car and even more grateful that I did not have to bring my kids across the plains in wintertime.

We are so excited for all the family/friends we will be seeing in the next two weeks!
December is flying by!

  1. How funny - when I'm cold or have to walk a long way with my kids I ALWAYS think that too! So glad I didn't have to walk the plains. You're too cute for actually saying it outloud! I hope we'll get to see y'all when we come out for Christmas!

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
