My Aunt Rachel

My sweet Aunt Rachel (my mom's oldest sister) is at the end of her battle with Friedreich's ataxia. She is at home with her mother (my Nanny) and her son BJ. I am grateful she has family around her. I still remember my cousin Coty and I fighting over and playing in her extra wheel chair when we were little girls. I also remember going shopping with her, watching movies, using AOL with her on her laptop, thinking it was cool she loved the color purple and if I remember correctly the band Pantera.

Aunt Rachel we love you and you are in our prayers.

  1. I couldn't remember what she had, and honestly, I barely know her. I've heard about her my whole life and I've always thought she was so beautiful. I'm sorry she's not doing well...she's in our prayers. Thanks for posting this.

  2. She has always been so beautiful!! I remember when she had one of her first surgeries when she was maybe 14. She had a torso cast and they carved a heart out in the front so it would be a little more fun. It's sad that I haven't seen her for many, many years.

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
