Blessings

I love to see the hand of the Lord in my life. I am not perfect at always recognizing it but Jake does a great job at this and helps me to remember. Lately we have been tremendously blessed in the monetary area of our life. Jake did not get paid for 2+ months due to his summer training and such. We are still playing catch-up after living on savings for so long. We have received many monetary blessings over the last little while that are worth noting.
-Our tire repair on our Sequoia was free.
-The kids at Brody's school alternate working in the cafeteria and get their lunch for free, this week was his week so FREE LUNCHES for the week.
-I received "treadmill fund" money.
-We used all the change from my mom for our date night.
-Our electricity bill for our TX house was half of what it usually is.
Jake has quoted this scripture since we were first married. He said his dad stressed the importance of this.
SECTION 59:21 And in nothing doth man offend God, or against none is his wrath kindled, save those who confess not his hand in all things, and obey not his commandments.
I am so grateful for all of our many blessings.

  1. I'm sure a combination of gratitude and generosity have contributed to your blessings. The Lord blesses those who are grateful but he blesses those who are generous like y'all even more!!

  2. Good reminder. It is easy to think about all the things we want and don't have and forget about all the ways the Lord is blessing us.

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
