At 4:41am this morning I got the call from my mom that my Aunt Rachel (my mom's sister) had passed away. I feel for her son BJ, her mother Carolyn, and all of her friends and family who will miss her. "And again, blessed are all they that mourn, for they shall be comforted" (3 Nephi 12:4). I know that the Lord can comfort us during this difficult time.

I believe that because of the love and sacrifice of our Savior Jesus Christ she will live again. She has shed her physical body and the pain and suffering that accompanied it and has gone to a better place. I know that Jesus Christ loves us and He brings us comfort at this time of loss. I am grateful for the opportunity I had to visit with my Aunt Rachel this summer while in Texas.I appreciated some of the kind comments posted on Facebook today:

Carolyn Bertrand: my beautiful daughter has gone to be with the lord now at 5.35am today. I want to thank everyone for thinking of me,I still need your prayers

Sarah Lunt: Oh Aunt Carolyn, I'm so sorry too. I've been thinking of you and Rachel all day. We'll continue to pray for you all. I know the Lord will carry you through this tough time. We love you and your family!

Charlotte Meyers: We lost my niece this morning about 5:15am. She has gone to heaven & was meet by aunt Sarah, my mother and my niece Gina Sellers. I know she is a beautiful angel now.

Jill Ratcliff: I'm sorry for y'all but happy for her. I'm glad she's no longer in pain. You'll continue to be in our prayers.

  1. When I was a little girl I thought Rachel was just so beautiful!!! Obviously, I was right! I'm so sad that she suffered so much but am glad that her suffering is over.

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
