Jake decided that with the money he got back for selling his books he would get our carpets cleaned. He took such pride in this job! He moved all of the furniture into non-carpeted areas of the house and vacuumed every single room about four times before the carpet guy came. Afterwards it was like moving in because we had to put everything back. The carpet does feel great to walk on! So remember to take off your shoes before you come in :)
Our poor little Mali Su contracted some sort of stomach bug because she spent all of Sunday night throwing up. It was so pitiful to watch this poor little baby get sick over and over and over! She would turn ghostly white(as pictured above) but never cry(she is such a trooper) Jake went last night and picked up some pedialyte for her to keep her hydrated. She has napped like a champ today and I would too if I was in her situation. She seems to be getting better but still had two sicky episodes today... poor girl! We ended up having her sleep on a pallet beside our bed so that we could hear her when she began to cough and get sick, I feared she would choke if I could not hear her and sit her up. For those non-Texans a pallet is a bed made on the floor consisting of blankets and pillows...
I am a bit aggravated because not only has the construction outside our home not stopped but now they decided to take down a tree. We used to have a nice view out our condo windows of these two trees and some surrounding homes but very little "street" view. Well today they decided to take out the bigger tree and as you can see from the view outside Aimi Lark's bedroom window it is not a pretty sight. I miss my tree!

  3. I sure hope Mali Su gets better quick! That stinks that they took away your tree! I miss the privacy and shade we got from our trees in our yard in Ogden.

  5. Hey, will you do me a favor and take our last name off of your blog. We got a really strange comment and it kinda freaked me out. We don't have our last name on our blog, and so I am asking everyone who uses our last name to just use our first names. I would really appreciate it! Thanks.

  7. Congrats on your clean carpet!
Lol, I didn't know that some people didn't know what a pallet was!
Poor little Mali Su, she does look ghostly white. Amazingly, she doesn't look miserable though, like I do when throwing up sick.

  8. Poor Mali Su. If she did get it from Peter (which I'm really sorry about) know that his was only a 24 hour bug. Hope she gets better soon (if she's not already)!

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
