23 hours and 45 minutes

later we are home again.
On Tuesday Jake called to tell me that he thought there was a possibility we could make it to him family reunion in NV. We were not planning on going due to the fact that Jake had a training til Tuesday and finals on Thursday with a school project sometime in between. Well on Tuesday he figured out he could meet with his group Tuesday eve and then write his paper that night. So we stayed up til 11pm finishing his paper and then woke up at 2am Wed morning to drive out. We forgot about the time change so we arrived in NV way earlier than needed for breakfast but we enjoyed the extra time to spend with everyone still in their PJs haha. I think the trip was made PERFECT by the fact that we received such a warm welcome of open arms and people so excited to see us they greeted us before even getting dressed! It was so sweet to see Mandi running to see the girls and wanting to hold Mali Su right away and for Larkie and Lark to run in with so much excitement and Lark to cry and hug me so tight and tell me how glad she was we made it. We could not have asked for a better welcome. The day consisted of many fun activities. The evening ended with dinner and a talent show where Jake and Aaron's talent was to teach "combatives." We left at about 8pm and got home at 2:15am. The drive home took longer because we stopped and slept for an hour and since I was driving and I was so tired I found myself driving slower than normal and praying A TON not to fall asleep! I realize now that I did not take many pictures but I know that I will be posting "shillig family" pictures as soon as I can. We took great family pictures! The pictures alone were worth our drive haha
4 Generations (worth the whole trip!)
William Edward Shillig Sr, William Edward Shillig Jr, Jacob Thomas Shillig, and the girls Aimi Lark and Mali Su Shillig
Talented Cousins "dancing on tables"
Madilyn, Alaina, and Aimi Lark
The boys showing off their "moves"
and OF COURSE we stopped at the new "in n out" in Washington City, UT on the way home

  4. That's so great that you guys were able to go! Driving home at night is not very fun especially when you are tired. I bet the Shillig family reunions never have a dull moment!

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
