I just need to brag a little...

See, I have this man in my life and he's awesome.
Sometimes I'm not so nice to him.  Like tonight when I called him, I then hung up on him.  Can you say rude?  childish?  Yes, I'd have to agree with you.  Well logically I know he's awesome but that doesn't mean I'm not a tad cranky right now.  Just cranky enough to hang up on the poor fellow.

So he comes home from teaching Chinese, Spanish, and Chess to JR HIGH kids and gives out all kinds of lovies.

On this night in particular (Friday) he does not have law school class at night so he is taking Malachi on a date.  Malachi woke up DRY this morning.  We have been regressing in the night time so we're excited for this little breakthrough.  He was on his best behavior all day long so Daddy promised him a date.
Malachi wanted to wear his BYU jersey like Daddy and asked me to fix his hair.  He wanted me to comb it and put "jelly" and water in it.  I happily obliged.
Malachi told Jake he wanted to go on the "BUZZ LIGHTYEAR" ride.
So off to Disney they went.  They've been gone for hours.
Jake sent me some cute pictures.  Like the on of him driving this car.  He wouldn't drive for me last time, he just rode shotgun while I drove.
On the carousel he asked Jake for a "knight horse."
Jake told me Malachi asked for a Mickey Mouse Light Saber and he couldn't say no.
I love that Jake does these dates with the kids when they do something special and that stands out.  Jake is so good about recognizing when someone does a good job at something.

I hope they stay for the fireworks, the Disney castle fireworks are wonderful!

Oh and sorry honey for hanging up on you.  Hopefully I'll be less cranky by the time you get home, I'm working on it, and yes, I walked the dog.

  1. "Wow. That's just about all [I] can say. Wow" (quote from Lily's Purple Plastic Purse that perfectly fits this post.) Thanks for the smiles.

  2. Aww I love it! My mom just quoted my favorite book when I was little. Anyways, Jake has always been good about that, like the $20 we spent at the mall! I love y'all!

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
