Chrysler Art Museum in Norfolk, VA

Norfolk has mermaid statues everywhere like this one.  They are each personalized to where they're at but all seem to be the same shape/pose.  The one on base was a red headed girl mermaid in a Sailor uniform.
The girls thought the exhibits were awesome.  The picture below they called a mermaid dog and couldn't stop laughing about it.
They had this whole "no touch" policy.  Yeah, we seemed to be getting in trouble constantly.  It was like they had people following us.  The kids actually did really well but the few times they "touched" there was a worker there correcting them/us.
They had an area where you could sketch the art.  Aimi Lark took it very seriously and actually did an amazing job.  Mali Su never seems to finish her art work and at the museum it was no different.  She has the hardest time about that.  Her teachers at church always tell her to "finish it at home."
The museum was really large.
I learned I like photography displays more than antique fancy oil paintings.
The kids got a little antsy, but overall it was really fun (and free).

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
