This week has been quite the transition for us.
I've spent my week doing things like
vacuuming up a busted hacky sack from the Bahamas that the kids said, "Zelda did."
putting all 10 seasons of FRIENDS DVDs back in their correct spaces that the kids said, "Solomon did"
putting ALL the toys back on the shelf because Solomon actually did.
Solomon is SO MESSY. Mali Su calls him, "the DESTROYER" and I couldn't agree with her more. I was paying bills in a room and came out after about 20 minutes and he had taken ALL the toys off the shelves and emptied ALL the drawers in the shrunk. I dread cleaning him when he finishes eating. This morning he had cereal on his forehead, lucky me.
Malachi has taken up sleep walking/bed hopping in the NUDE. Needless to say he's marked a few territories. I don't know if we need to lock him in his room or what. Add scrubbing furniture to my above mess cleaning routine and I'm all set.
Mali Su and Malachi are not adjusting well to Aimi Lark being gone all day. They fight A LOT since she's been gone. Even in the pool yesterday they were having a knock down drag out.
I had no idea she was the one coming up with all the games they play. When she comes home they are so excited and spend the next 2 hours SQUEALING for joy as they run around the house LOUDLY playing. I just smile to myself and enjoy the loud peace of playing (not fighting) children.
Another realization I had was that Aimi Lark is my only child who knows how to clean well and with little direction. Guess that'll be on my list, teaching Mali Su to clean up the messes she makes without Aimi Lark there to help her. Malachi actually does well at cleaning his room but he really only has legos in there so it's a quick clean.
I love my house clean. I don't mind cleaning one bit, but I'm not liking cleaning these deliberate messes. I prefer to clean normal run of the mill life messes.
Well I took a second to vent, now back to vacuuming hacky sack pebbles out of my carpet.
