Funny Stuff

Sometimes I email myself random things so that I can remember them later and hopefully work them into a blog post.  Well here are some.

Below are some phrases Jake (and now the kids) say.  It's a language that Jake has made up and I don't want to forget.
Ed zwa dge (usually in song form, "hey little ed zwa dge)
Chico natarre (said more in a scolding tone)
Malachi puts his Fist in air-  "dulo"  Jake picked up on this and didn't let it die

Phrases you will often hear from Malachi
"you call me name!?"
"don't laugh at me!"
"it's not funny!"
He can be quite defensive being child #3

Sitting in Aunt Carol's lap, watching conference, Malachi looks up at her after hearing the words Joseph Smith said in a talk.
"Joseph Smith!?  I know him!"

Oh and yes, Jake shaved his head.  Easier to go the week(s) in the field without showering without hair on your head.

Mali Su has the most sensitive sniffer in the world.  She will sniff and say "something stinks" or like today hold her nose and not want to enter a public restroom.  That girl is like a human bloodhound.

I'm @ dealership today getting oil changed and as I'm unloading kids I draw a small group of onlookers.   Two ladies begin to clap and say,  "we applaud you" with the kindest smiles on their faces.  Lol Thanks I thought.  I'll take applause over "you're crazy" (like the lady in Wal-Mart told me yesterday) any day of the week.
(the dealership had a whole FREE snack/soda area, SCORE)
I can conquer the world with that double stroller.  It might just be on its last leg, best $100 I ever spent I do believe.

Watching an episode of Oprah, the finale I think, at Aunt Carol's Oprah said,
"nobody but you are responsible for your life."
She then went on to say something about how "it don't matter what your mama did..."
BUT the thing is I AGREE!

Mali Su shouts across the room to me, "mom look, Solomon's pecs are growing!"  From the excitement in her voice you'd think she was finally tall enough to ride all the rides at Disney.
Well I think that does it, my email inbox is cleaned out.
Oh and yes, Solomon can now sit up all on his own, from tummy to sitting.  It's amazing and I have a video I'm unable to load, bummer.  Just take a moment to picture it though, growing pecs and all, army crawling to sitting, it's a beautiful sight.

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
