Reasons why I blog

I don't remember why I first started blogging but I do remember when.  It was Memorial Day Weekend at the Sarager house in Gilbert, AZ.  Jake was stationed at FT. Huachuca and we were up visiting the Saragers for the weekend. So, since they had Internet and I had seen other people I know with "blogs" I started one for myself.  For a long time the word BLOG was weird to me so I called it our "family website."  Now I've come to terms with the fact that this is indeed a blog.

I love that my family and friends far and wide can see what we are up to and I no longer have to send out update emails with pictures.  I know I should call people more often but the thought of giving numerous people a family update for an hour on the phone with three needy little ones is not even a thought that enters my mind anymore.
If you want to know what we are up to, read our blog.

I LOVE not having to keep up with prints, scrapbook materials, and all the fixings that goes along with that.  I have chronicled my life and now my family's life since 2002 with each year having a scrapbook in its honor.  Now I don't have to do that.  I just blog and voila at the end of the year I have a blog book.  No more of THIS!
Above is what my counter looks like at the moment.  I am in the process of printing up Malachi's 1 year picture to put on the wall.  Jake wanted to see all 3 of our children at 1 year.  I found Mali Su's in her 1st year scrapbook (I made a goal to have the kids their own 1st year books) and then Aimi Lark's was no where to be found.  I pulled out this box I have labeled "scrapbook" that I have lugged around and added to since we lived in Anaheim, CA in 2005 and it wasn't there either.  I was so frustrated with this box that I decided to just tackle it, organize it, and hopefully get it all scrap booked.  I have no desire to move this box yet again!

Now you see why I blog?  Who wants to deal with that mess?  Not me.
I can chronicle my family's life in about 15 minutes a day with my blog and digital camera.

  1. Haha, SO agree with you! I love that I have a book to track our marriage year by year :) I'm not good at scrapbooking, and NEVER have been good at journaling, so this way my kids will get to read all the funny little thoughts and stories from their mommy. Good post :)

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
