Well we have had our condo listed for months now online to try and rent it. We recently added it to KSL.com and had many calls and people come look. Each telling us the same thing, they needed to move in sooner than Aug. 14th. They were ALL hoping for around July 1. I had the thought last week and presented the idea to Jake. I told him I thought we should maybe change the date available on our Condo to July 1st and if it rented I would move in with his parents. Well it worked. Our condo was almost immediately seen by many and rented for a 1 year lease. During the entire process I was so grateful it was all working out so well. I was so glad that we wouldn't be without renters and we would not have to pay for 2 mortgages (UT & TX) and a rental in CA. It was great. The renters had paid their deposit, signed some paperwork, and Jake had talked to his parents about me and the kids staying there. We were good to go.
We sat down, started to finish the movie City of Angels, I had paper and began to plan things out, and then it all sunk in. I would be leaving my husband for a month and a half. We have done separations before because of Jake's work (Army) but never had we ourselves chose to be separated. It was different. I wasn't prepared for this mentally. I thought I had almost 2 months til we had to leave our home.
OUR HOME.
I love this home. I am always one for change but not "be out next week" kind of change I guess. I of course started to cry. I went to my room and prayed for comfort, prayed some more and thanked Heavenly Father for blessing our family with renters. I got up, wiped my mascara, gathered the two gift cards I had for Kohl's and told Jake I was going shopping. He knew I was having a hard time so he said he wanted to come with me. We went together and bought his Father's Day present. It was nice to take my mind off all of it for a little bit.
The next day (Sunday) I had another wonderful thought. A family in our ward had their house for rent since they are gone for a summer internship. I called today and we went to check it out. It is PERFECT. I am so happy that I will be with Jake for the next month and a half! Yes we will still be moving out of our condo this weekend but I couldn't be more happy about how it is all working out. I will get to say my good-byes to our condo, our ward, our friends and family, and good ol' Provo in a time frame that I was already ready for, August 14.
I feel so extremely blessed and joyful.
Oh and Malachi took his first (5+) real, steady, keep himself balanced, steps today from Jake to Josh.
It was perfect.
I love that all three of my little ones have taken their first steps in this house.
What great memories.
I have two thoughts:
ReplyDelete1. Having a plan makes you feel secure and ready for whatever is coming= peace of mind.
2. Nothing ever works out as planned, but it always works out.
wow wow wow! It is all falling into place. I'll be arriving in Provo 1 or 2 days after you leave. :( Good luck packing!!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you found renters! And isn't it weird how inspiration comes a little at a time before you see the whole picture. I'm so glad that you wont be separated for a month and a half.
ReplyDeleteI was kind of worried for you guys. I'm glad it worked. Glad you aren't going to CA yet! Good luck with the move.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad it's all working out. I was sad for you as I read your post and then excited to read that you will be staying there with Jake. Yay for renters!!!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with everything! Glad you get to stay with Jake!
ReplyDeleteHey! I love the new background! I am excited to hear all your plans are working out, even if it wasn't exactly what you had planned.
