We played in the SNOW

and it is MAY 24th!
I was inspired by my neighbor Alana.
Malachi was napping, Aimi Lark kept asking to go SKEEDING (skiing) so I figured why not!?
I put them in their warmest clothes (that barely still fit) that they had in their drawers.
I packed away their snow/winter clothes months ago.
They wore their adorable hats made by their Aunt Audrey.
I love the hats she makes, love them!
Aimi Lark not liking the snow in her face (like her mother) and Mali Su holding her hands out to take it all in.
We made hand prints and footprints, not snow angels though, it was too wet for that and we were not wearing the right attire for such an activity as snow angels.

I saw Mali Su scooping up snowballs with her mittens.  She kept sweetly showing them to me.
"Look! (giggle)"

I feel like this was Mali Su's first time to ever truly enjoy the snow.
She then started tasting her snowballs she would scoop.
"mmm, it tastes good" she would cutely say as she licked away.
Aimi Lark shivered and told me they tasted cold and then asked again to go skeeding.
Good thing Tahoe will be only a few hours away so we can take this girl skiing when we move to CA.

I was finally able to bribe Aimi Lark inside with the allure of "hot chocolate."  I know she has no idea what hot chocolate actually is but it has the word CHOCOLATE in it so it has to be good.

Mali Su was not bribeable.  She had to stop, scoop up, and taste about 3 more snowballs on her way to the house.
Each taste she once again told me, "mmm, tastes good!!"

This snow
(even though it is killing my plants)
made me a happy woman today.
It was a sentimental experience on many levels.
Provo is where I experienced my first snow.
Provo is where my children are experiencing their first snow.
This is likely to be our last snow in Provo...
Thanks Provo for all the Winter memories.
I'm looking forward to one last summer full of memories with you.

  3. WOW!!! I cannot believe it's been snowing there!!!
It has been in the high 70's-80's here. And it even includes sunshine :D. It looks like you're taking it quite well. I think I would have to up my med dosage if that happened here :D.

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
