Hiking the Y

If anyone remembers we attempted to hike "the Y" back in August 2009.  To give you some background I was about 40lbs heavier and Malachi was not even 3 months old and we did NOT make it to the top.  This time was a completely different story.  We made it to the top of the Y and I didn't even feel like I was dying!  It was such a great feeling of accomplishment on my part.
We went with the Saragers and Larkie's best friend Eliza who is in town finishing her degree at BYU during Spring term.
We all took turns packing children and holding hands of little ones.
The weather was PERFECT and it made me that much more excited for Monterey who has nice cool weather most of the year.

Thanks everyone for all your hard work!  It was a great hike!
I'm already thinking of where we can venture out to next Saturday...

  2. That looks like such a fun family activity! If you ever go to Oahu, Hawaii then I have a workout challenge, hike Diamond Head. When you think you have reached the top... think again lol! It is a beautiful hike however and a great workout!

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
