I did not sleep in
(although Jake did get up and give Malachi his morning bottle, thank you hunnie)
or receive breakfast in bed
(both I thought = the perfect Mother's Day)
but I did learn a wonderful lesson...
I am a mother and I love what I do
Yesterday was filled with "normal" everyday "Mama" duties and I loved every minute of it.
I at first wanted to be pouty when Jake told me "Happy Mother's Day" (finally) at 9:11AM
(yes, I looked at the clock on his laptop as we searched for jobs in Monterey, we stayed home from church w/sick kiddos).
He then told me he was not a good husband when he couldn't spend money.
I quickly got over myself and my selfish desire for some version of a "perfect" Mother's Day.
I chose to be happy with the day and not let some "ideal" Mother's day I had concocted in my head get in the way of a great day.
We went about our day playing with kids,
I baked cookies,
bathing Malachi after his umteenth muddy diaper,
you know, normal day to day, weekend stuff.
Oh and of course since the kids were feeling better we had Sunday dinner at the Saragers.
I love "Shillig Sunday Dinners."
Always have and always will.
I have a great in-law family.
I love them.
Thanks Mama Lark for raising me such a great husband.
Thank you for being there when each and every single one of my babies were born.

You are a wonderful Grammie and we love you.
I am so blessed.
Thank You Jake and my 5 "children" for the super sweet Mother's Day card I found in my seat of the sequoia, your words meant so much.
Thank you Jake for our nice drive after all the kids were in bed.
I love you.
I'm realizing more and more each day life is all about perspective.
I choose to try to see the best in all situations, and not let the actions of others effect my happiness.
I loved my Mother's Day, it was wonderful.

Thank you for that post. It wasn't until 9pm that John said anything and I did pout all day :D. I really need to be like you and just make the best of everyday no matter what someone else does or says or doesn't do. You are such a great example!
