Now on to the reception

I know I went to TX for a WEDDING and have yet to blog about the WEDDING.
So without further ado here are some RECEPTION photos.
It was great to see my best friend/cousin Marianne and her son Ethan.
Malachi got passed around quite a bit but was quickly returned to me after people's arms got tired.
Malachi loved seeing Josh.  He did after all fly all the way to TX to be his "mini-best-man."  Josh would walk by and Malachi would put his arms out for him to hold him.  Poor Josh had to mingle a ton but even if only for a second he held Malachi he never once denied Malachi's cute little requests to be held.  At one point Josh was standing with his back to us but Malachi still recognized him and was patting him on the back to get his attention.
Don't mind my crazy cousin David and his crazy sister Sarah peeking her head in
(try to find her, it's a fun game).
I enjoyed being able to walk around with my mom and her to see so many people she knew from growing up and high school at Kayla's reception.
There was LOTS of fun dancing.  I stayed way longer than I expected due to some FUN dancing had by all.
(check out Malachi and Josh in their matching PURPLE vans!)
My cousin Cari was the photographer extraordinaire.  I am excited to see her work.  I found this picture (of her husband Brandon) on my camera.  LOVE IT.
Oh and we can't forget that SARAH surprised everyone and showed up after weeks of no one knowing if she was really going to be able to make it or not.  Turns out she bought her ticket WEEKS ago.  Silly Sarah, tricks are for kids.

The morning of the reception I was able to attend the temple with Kayla and others to be there when she received her endowment.  It was such a wonderful experience to be in the Temple with my side of the family.  Thank you Monica for finding me a sitter for Malachi.

  3. What software do y'all use to edit your photos? I would love to be able to shrink my arms and waist down like that, perfect for those not so flattering photos.

  4. I just learned in my photo class that if you stand with your arms not right next to your body it makes you look skinner.

Am I right in assuming you don't edit your photos? Must be all that gym going! Good work babe!

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
